Thanks for the comment. This is partly a matter of perception; the commercial version of Saxon actually has a lot more to offer than schema-awareness, and there's a section of the user community that doesn't realise this: hence the renaming. I disagree with you that people aren't using XSD; large numbers of enterprise users are using it. However, I do agree that persuading them of the benefits of making their stylesheets and queries schema-aware has not been easy. There are real benefits in doing it, which increase with the complexity of the application, but there's also an upfront cost.
