To understand this obviously requires that I have a better understanding of the Thompson and Tobin 2003 algorithm. Not that me understanding this means anything beyond gaining a personal understanding of how to approach similar situations in my own coding efforts, but the fact that this opportunity exists (learning how to write better code by reading the code of those in whom truly understand how to write better code in the first place :) is something should be cherished. You can't purchase this kind of education with money, and instead time and hard work. Yet another reason for me to say "Thanks!" :)
